Walworth County Comes to Milwaukee's German Fest
Honor County Welcomes Visitors to Pepsi Pavilion
Elkhorn, Wis. – (July 16, 2010) – Walworth County, home to Lake Geneva – an area well-known for tourism – has been named the 2010 German Fest Honor County and will be represented in the Pepsi Pavilion at German Fest, which runs from July 22-25 at Milwaukee's Lakefront Henry W. Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Dr.
"We're celebrating the 30th anniversary of German Fest this year and are bringing back some of our past traditions,” remarks Klaus Fromme, President/German Fest Director. He continues, “One of them is to name an Honor City each year. We've expanded that slightly this year in naming an Honor County. Walworth County was chosen for this honor because of its close relationship to Waldeck-Frankenberg, its sister county in Germany."
The Walworth County Visitors Bureau will occupy the Pepsi Pavilion, located on the south end of the grounds near the Marcus Amphitheatre, where representatives from Lake Geneva area tourism venues will provide information on what to do and see in the area. Some exhibitors will have items for sale, raffle prizes and giveaways. Activities are planned for young and old alike in the Pepsi Pavilion throughout German Fest – everything from tattoos to bingo. If you want a place to sit, relax, meet up with friends, and enjoy your food, the Walworth County Visitors Bureau welcomes you to the Pepsi Pavilion to do just that.
To purchase raffle tickets or advance German Fest tickets at a reduced cost of $10, contact the Walworth County Visitors Bureau at 800-395-8687, or visit www.VisitWalworthCounty.com.
