Experience a Fall Farm Tour in the Lake Geneva Area
Walworth County Farms Open Their Doors to Visitors
Elkhorn, Wis. – (October 4, 2010)
– The Walworth County Farm Tour is scheduled for Saturday, October 9. Area farms will offer tours, activities and special events for visitors to get a taste of farm life. You can experience everything from an old fashioned farm breakfast – or dinner – to a complimentary wine and cheese tasting.
Following is a sample of what each farm on the tour is offering guests:
- Yuppie Hill Poultry & Mum’s Hen House CafĂ© (breakfast served 8 a.m.-12 noon; dinner served 4-7 p.m.) W1385 Potter Rd, Burlington, WI, 262-210-0264. Begin your day with a hearty farm breakfast, visit the other farms on the tour and then return for dinner. Learn about the Suri Alpacas from Earthcare Suri Alpacas LLC, who will be guests for the day.
- MoonStar Farm (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) W3319 Potter Rd, Elkhorn, WI, 262-723-4156 (www.moonshineacres.com). Visit this family-owned and operated farm specializing in chickens, pasture raised beef and goats, produce, and goat milk soap and lotion. Hayrides, pony rides, garden tours, goat herding demonstrations and an art show featuring local artists are just a sampling of what is in store for you.
- Pinn-Oak Ridge Farm (11 a.m.- 6 p.m.) N5784 Johnson Rd., Delavan, WI, 262-728-9629 (www.wisconsinlamb.com). This farm produces “the best tasting lamb in the Midwest,” and provides personal, high-quality customer service.
- Staller Estate Vineyard (11 a.m.-6 p.m.) W8896 County Hwy A, Delavan, WI, 608-883-2100 (www.stallerestates.com). Enjoy a complimentary wine and cheese tasting and discover the art of making wine when you tour the winery and vineyards.
