Labelmaster Offers 35th Edition of International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code
Amendment Effective in 2011

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is a requirement for all watercrafts shipping dangerous goods/hazmat in international waters. This amendment is effective January 1, 2011 with full force of the rules January 1, 2012. First published in 1965, this year’s edition of the IMDG Code features:
  • new markings for shipping limited quantities
  • substantial changes to the Dangerous Goods List
  • updated recommendations for the training needs of shore-side personnel
 
The IMDG Code includes detailed requirements for labeling, markings, documentation, and training provisions for articles defined as dangerous. It also includes packaging requirements for each article, as well as testing procedures for large and small packages.
